How to Use Critology
Critology is where architecture students and professionals share references, upload their work, and give each other feedback — 24/7, across the world.
Click + Submit in the top right, paste the URL, and Critology automatically creates a beautiful preview card. The image stays on the original site — no copyright issues.
Switch to the Upload tab when posting. You can upload up to 10 images at once. Each account gets 500MB of free storage. Images are automatically optimized.
Public — Everyone can see it. It appears in the feed and search results.
Private — Only you can see it. But if you add it to any collection (public or private), the collection owner and collaborators can see it too. Great for sharing work-in-progress with your studio group.
Create collections for your studio class, a research topic, or your favorite architect. You can invite collaborators to add references together. In any collection, the owner and collaborators can see all posts — including private ones. Outsiders and logged-out visitors only see public posts.
Upvote ▲ — See something good? Upvote it. The best references rise to the top naturally.
Comment 💬 — Leave feedback on any post. Replies are supported for discussions. This is your 24/7 crit — no need to wait for studio hours.
Bookmark 🔖 — Save posts to revisit later. Find them in your profile or the sidebar.
Follow people whose work inspires you. Their new posts will appear in your Following feed.
Message anyone directly from their profile page. Perfect for asking about a project, requesting feedback, or just connecting.
Studio is where you manage your ongoing design work. Create a Project for each design assignment or personal project, then add Entries (sketches, drawings, renderings, diagrams, models) as your work progresses.
Create a Project — Give it a title, description, and semester.
Add Entries — Upload your work-in-progress: sketches, floor plans, sections, renderings, model photos, diagrams. Each entry can have up to 10 images.
Add References — Link existing references from the feed to your project for easy access.
Get feedback — Request AI Crit or peer reviews on individual entries while your project develops.
Publish — When an entry is ready, publish it as a Parti for the community to see.
When adding an entry, choose what kind of work it is: Sketch, Drawing (plans, sections, elevations), Rendering, Diagram, Model (physical or digital), or Other.
On any post with images, click AI Crit and type an architect’s name — Tadao Ando, Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas, or anyone else. The AI analyzes your work through their philosophical lens and gives you a critique.
Want feedback from a particular classmate, senior, or professor? Send them a review request from your post detail page. They will see it in their Crit Inbox and can write a review or decline.
Find them in the sidebar under Apps. Drawing symbol lookup, area converter, ergonomic dimensions, material properties, line weight guides, ramp calculator, and structural span reference. Plus country-specific building codes for Korea, USA, Japan, and China.
Switch between English, 한국어, 日本語, 中文, Español using the language buttons at the bottom of the sidebar. The interface and apps will switch to your chosen language.
